Marie Flanigan Interiors has designed this multi-generational lake house getaway located in Marble Falls, a quaint town nestled in the rolling hills of Central Texas, also known as the Texas Hill Country. Set on Lake LBJ (Lyndon B Johnson) just 30 minutes away from Austin, this home was created as a respite for family getaways. The owners’ vision was for a warm and comfortable atmosphere yet still maintain a level of sophistication and style.
They desired a beautiful material palette with living spaces that were personalized to their design aesthetic. Spaces were designed to host a multi-generational family with the owner’s two daughters, sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. With this in mind, the designer created an open layout kitchen, dining, and great room for all to gather. These spaces frame idyllic views of the lake. The owner’s suite is situated on the main level, while the other bedroom suites and play areas are on the upper level.
Durable materials were used throughout the home. An example of this is the breakfast nook banquette, created to be kid-friendly while also showing views of the lake. Texas Lueders limestone, another material selected for its durability, can be found throughout the main level floors and extends out to the outdoor living area.
Living spaces feature a beautiful blend of organic selections paired with sophisticated accents. In the kitchen, clean-lined, open shelves pop against a backdrop of Vermeer-cut stone on the walls. In the bedroom, you will find visually striking hand-hewn wood beams on the ceiling mixed with contemporary art on the walls. There is an exquisite mix of contemporary, traditional, and rustic that flows effortlessly throughout the interiors.
