This design-build custom home with a modern farmhouse feel is a collaboration between Ellie Mroz Design and Michael Robert Construction, located in Westfield, New Jersey. The homeowners are a young active family, whose wish list included a red front door and a vaulted family room ceiling.
When designing this home, the project team focused on creating a unique, cohesive, fresh, and cozy farmhouse suited for modern family living. Throughout the dwelling, you will find airy rooms with expansive windows, brick, natural woods, shiplap, and plenty of custom built-ins for sitting with a good book.
The 3,500 square feet of this home are imbibed with classic materials and architectural elements that match with the homeowner’s needs – open and fresh married with classic farmhouse flair. From the inviting front porch flanked with copper gas lanterns sourced from Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights to the vaulted family room ceiling designed to maximize views of endless backyard trees, this home is both functional and farmhouse fresh.
What We Love: This modern farmhouse has all the feels of a home that’s been well lived in for generations. We especially love the red door, it invites you in and makes for a homey feel. The project team did a fabulous job of creating light-filled interiors with plenty of space for gathering with family and friends as well as spaces for the family to relax and enjoy their cozy home.
