This light-filled home with a casually modern aesthetic was designed by Fergon Architects in collaboration with Amy Storm & Company, located in Hinsdale, Illinois. The home was created for an active young couple who desired a youthful, urban, and simplistic feel to their dwelling.
The homeowners were originally city dwellers who desired a home in the suburbs with a desire for more greenery and a strong sense of community. They requested living spaces where they could relax and unwind, whether it be in their home theater or spa-like bathroom. What We Love: This spectacular home provides its inhabitants with luminous living spaces that have been stylishly designed throughout. Careful focus was placed on selecting stylish light fixtures in this home and comfortable yet sophisticated furnishings that are perfect for everyday living and entertaining. Overall, the designer did a fabulous job of giving the homeowners exactly what they requested, a casually modern aesthetic.

Above: In this luminous entry, a black and white area rug by Davis & Davis welcomes guests inside. On the ceiling is a Kuzco light fixture.

Above: Special focus was put into the kitchen with some specific requirements from the homeowners. They wanted a hidden pantry with plenty of storage. A Zip HydroTap was installed to instantly transform water — filtered, boiling, chilled, and sparkling. This necessitated a closet space behind the cabinet to house the CO2 tank. There is also a passageway that leads through the pantry and into the dining room.
