This beautiful contemporary farmhouse was designed by Selin + Selin Architecture, located in Shelburne, a town in Chittenden County, Vermont. This home was constructed for a young family, designed with the natural surroundings in mind. Indoor and outdoor living spaces foster creativity and play.
Vibrant colors are woven through the home and the use of shiplap ceilings, exposed beams, and mixed materials make for a modern and interesting space. The large wrap-around porch, partially covered, suits Vermont’s climate while encouraging outdoor living. Continue below to see the rest of this project, which is called ‘Pasture House’…

What We Love: This contemporary farmhouse in Vermont is surrounded by an idyllic landscape. Created for family living, the focus was on a strong indoor/outdoor connection to not only soak in the views but to flood the interiors with natural light. An expansive wrap-around porch provides a wonderful place for family and friends to gather and enjoy the great outdoors. Overall, the project team did a wonderful job of creating a comfortable and inviting home to meet the lifestyle needs of a growing and active family.
