Chad Esslinger Design has completely renovated the entire first floor of his personal family home located in Downers Grove, a village in DuPage County, Illinois. The remodel of this project entailed an overhaul of the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, family room, living room, entry, and staircase. Above: The previous layout of this kitchen was about 160″ x 130″. The designer removed 30″ from one end to allow for the larger island which was pushed out and is off-center from the kitchen space. The island is a stock finish from Omega Cabinetry called Smokey Hills.
Above: The cabinet color is a white hue offered by Omega Cabinets, with Emtek hardware. The backsplash is Tile Shop Meram Blanc tumbled marble subway tile, 3×6. The perimeter countertop is Caesarstone Sleek Concrete quartz and the island is Caesarstone London Gray quartz.
Above: The fridge is from KitchenAid, while the stove is by Thermador. The crown molding is from the cabinet supplier, Omega. The area rug was sourced from Loloi Rugs.
What We Love: This family home in Illinois went from dated and drab to beautifully transformed to meet the lifestyle needs of a busy family. Living spaces are bright and airy with a wonderful mix of vintage finds and trendy decor pieces to create a home that is full of character and personality. We are loving every updated space featured in this home, the designer did a fabulous job of transforming a house into a home.
