This cliffside modern farmhouse was designed by Danze & Davis Architects in collaboration with Younger Homes, located in Lago Vista, a lakeside community located on the northern shores of Lake Travis, Texas. Positioned right on the edge of a cliff, this dwelling provides some of the most idyllic views of Texas Hill Country.
The exterior of the home stays true to the modern farmhouse style with white board and batten siding, black windows and doors, and a dark metal roof. Windows and doors are multi-paned to add to the farmhouse vibe. A paneled ceiling on the front and back porch, painted in a pale gray to add a little interest and contrast to all of the white.
Oversized concrete pavers lead guests up to the front door. A light-toned wood deck adds warmth to the black and white exterior while faux gas lanterns add plenty of charm.
What We Love: This cliffside home has an exterior and interior that takes all the best elements of the modern farmhouse style while incorporating a few distinctive elements to make it feel one of a kind. We are loving the spectacular views from this home’s cliffside location and the black and white color palette. This would be an incredible home for entertaining with the large deck and expansive great room.

The interior of the home continues with the modern farmhouse aesthetic, while also adding a few unique elements to make it special. A white oak wood floor throughout the home, with white penny round tile in the master bath and a hex tile in the other bathrooms.
Above: To keep the space light and bright, white walls and trim along with a pop of drama with a black shiplap fireplace surround with flanking wood floating shelves. The living room chandelier is the Sonoro 50″ Vertical Light Industrial Round Chandelier.
Above: To make the white shiplap pop, and to counteract the fireplace, black cabinets with a marble-look waterfall island in the kitchen. Mixing metals adds to the custom feel using antiqued brass hardware and a matte black faucet in the kitchen.
