McAlpine Architects have designed this timeless farmhouse with modern elegance, nestled in the rolling hills of a countryside horse farm in Baltimore County, Maryland. The owners built this home brand new, yet they desired for it to appear as though it has always been on the property.

For the aesthetics, they wished for a farmhouse that has modern elegance mixed with old world texture. This dwelling could be just as comfortable if it were constructed in Burgundy, France or Tuscany, Italy. Design studio Cashmere Interior applied an exquisite custom plaster wall finish throughout the interiors.

The 400 year old cathedral stone floors, reclaimed timbers, roof tiles, and many of the doors collectively helped with the “old” appearance that the owners were looking for. Inside you will find a crossover from modern to classical and a touch of whimsy mixed with tradition.

The fabric selections are natural and organic, while the patterns are collected, and the materials have a depth of finishes. “The ultimate goal was to feel nestled, comfortable, refined, and like you were in a farmhouse… all at the same time,” states Cashmere Interior.

What We Love: This farmhouse style home exudes a beautiful modern elegance throughout its timeless interiors. The project team did an exceptional job of conveying the homeowners wishes to design a brand new home that appears to have always been on its countryside setting. We are especially loving the inviting details throughout, from the furnishings to the decadent finishes and materials.
