This beautiful timber and barn wood home designed by Design Associates Architects is nestled on a property in the Shooting Star community, in the heart of Teton Village, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This home is both opulent yet cozy — offering spaces for recreation, stargazing and entertaining guests. The design reflects a Montana-Style ranch, with sections pieced together to appear as if they evolved over time.
At the heart of the property is the ranch’s stone-clad core, which encompasses the kids’ bedrooms and was designed to appear as if it were the original structure. From this core, there are three different pathways that lead to other wings of the home. This includes two glass bridges and one covered, open-air bridge.
Project Team: Architecture: Design Associates Architects | Interior Design: Snake River Interiors | Construction: Tennyson Ankeny Construction
One wing of this structure encompasses the master bedroom suite, taking the entire upper level, while the guest quarters can be found below. A bridge leads to the other wing, where a spacious home gym is housed above a three-car garage. A spiral staircase wraps around a silo, which features a high-end telescope for some amazing stargazing. A third, open-air bridge will take you to an additional, detached garage. Built above the detached garage is the ultimate in entertaining — an open-air rooftop deck for grilling, lounging and watching sports while relishing in the crisp mountain air.
Above: The stone on the exterior facade is a combination of Chief Cliff and McLaughlin Ledge, sourced from Select Stone in Bozeman, MO. The timers are milled and shaped by Spearhead Timberworks, Nelson, BC, made to look old by Vintage Woods, Eagle, CO.
Brand new timbers that have been integrated into the design of this home have been made to look “aged”. Paired with the extensive stonework, the overall feel of this home offers an “understated ranch” aesthetic. On the interior you will find marble finishes, live-edge surfaces and a soothing color palette. Fun and relaxation is abound in this home, which includes recreation rooms, plenty of dining spaces, a home theater, recording studio and ample spots to cozy up with a good read or your favorite hot beverage.
What We Love: This stunning timber and barn wood home offers a fabulous place for hosting family get togethers with plenty of space to relax and entertain. We are especially loving the concept of the silo, with its high-tech telescope, its a fantastic spot for stargazing during clear skies. Although this home was plenty of luxurious details and amenities, it still offers a sense of inviting warmth throughout its beautiful interiors.
