Axial Art Architecture in collaboration with rebaL Design created this modern rustic home nestled on a 35-acre dude ranch property called C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado. This is a summer vacation home for this family of five, whose main residence is in Florida. Constructed into a steep hillside, this dwelling features spacious wooden decks and stone patios providing sweeping views over the pasture, Willow Creek reservoir and the Indian Peaks mountains in the distance.
The architects sited this home on the property — a lofty perch on the hillside — to take advantage of the views and solar orientation. From the exterior, this dwelling blends in with the local vernacular, featuring a stacked stone foundation, reclaimed wood siding and an exposed structural steel detailing. On the interior, this mountain home leans in a more modern aesthetic with industrial touches.
