J. Visser Design in collaboration with Scott Christoper Homes has created this modern treetop home located in Montague, Michigan. Nestled high atop a wooded dune, a quarter-mile-long steel boardwalk connects an opulent garage/loft to a 6,500-square-foot contemporary residence with three distinct living spaces.
The striking copper-and-stone exterior complements the multiple balconies, Brazilian Ipe decking, and outdoor entertaining areas, which feature an elaborate grill and large swim spa. Highlights of the main structure include an in-floor heating system, an enchanting wine grotto, and a large, climate-controlled wine cellar. This dwelling also boasts a sauna, elevator, and a private master balcony with an outdoor fireplace.

Above: The great room features materials of black walnut, Douglas fir, and white warm oak. Floor-to-ceiling glass provides scenic views while allowing natural light to flood the interiors. Providing an organic feel, no stain was used on any of the wood. Leading to the upper level is a floating staircase of stainless steel and black walnut.
Above: This lower level was designed to give the feeling of a retreat. The ceiling features bamboo, providing a cozy feel to this space. Providing the ultimate in luxury, there is a 750-bottle wine cellar enclosed with custom stainless steel and glass doors. This level also includes a full spa.
