This modern mountain retreat is renovated by Charles Cunniffe Architects in collaboration with Pembrooke & Ives, nestled at the base of Red Mountain, in Aspen, Colorado. Built in 1997, this home already had plenty of outdoor space and took advantage of the incredible views, however it was in need of an update. It needed to be aesthetically pleasing, yet be all about comfort.
Spread out over four-levels, the home encompasses 14,000 square feet of living space with ten bedrooms and 19 beds! Most of the beds are in the basement level, which was transformed into the ultimate slumber party hangout. This home is meant to serve as a retreat for a New York City-based couple, who have three children. With enough space to sleep up to 28 guests at one time, family, friends and business associates come to hit the slopes in the winter and enjoy outdoor activities in the summer.
What We Love: This modern mountain retreat was designed to offer the ultimate in luxury, yet with comfortable details throughout. Designed as a refuge for family and friends, this fabulous home is enjoyed throughout the seasons as an escape from city life. Although spacious, the interiors were designed to feel intimate and inviting, with a palette that plays off the beautiful surroundings.
Tell Us: What do you think of the overall design of this home, do you find it to be too large for a vacation retreat? Would this be your idea of the ultimate dream house? Share your thoughts in the Comments!
