Laura Medicus Interiors is responsible for the renovation of this 1950’s ranch house located in the Crestmoor Neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. This family home began as a dark and dated structure that was in desperate need of a major overhaul. The design team collaborated on changing the roof line, adding windows, large doors, walnut beams, a built-in garden nook, a custom kitchen and a new entrance — among other things. The home didn’t grow dramatically square footage-wise. It grew in ways that really count: Light, air, connection to the outside and a connection to family living. Interior Styling is by Kristy Oatman.

What We Love: After getting a major overall, this beautiful ranch house offers its inhabitants a warm and welcoming interior layout. Large windows and tall ceilings helps to keep the interiors full of light and feeling spacious. Wood ceiling beams and wood flooring helps to infuse warmth into the living spaces, creating a cozy comfort. We are especially loving the kitchen, not only does it feel airy, but the use of color steps away from the white kitchen trend.
