This single family dwelling encompasses 3,250 square feet of living space, offering fours bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The design of this retreat was inspired by its surroundings, offering generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, with private areas to get away and relax. Durable natural materials are composed to provide a sense of place and permanence.
Shou-sugi-ban is a traditional Japanese treatment for wood siding. Cedar is lightly charred, washed and oiled to create a rich, weather resistant finish. This treatment is applied to the thick wall that bisects the home, providing a dramatic backdrop to the entry and privacy to the master suite and its private gardens.
