Whimsical shingle-style home features fabulous living on Lake Geneva

traditional-exterior

A shingle-style home designed by Wade Weissmann Architecture in collaboration with Robert Alt Design is located on Lake Geneva, in southeastern Wisconsin. This East Coast inspired design serves as a weekend and summer house for a young family and their guests. A view-corridor setback restriction was placed on this property. The architects worked with this challenge, creating a home that feels naturally composed on the site.

The architects used the existing property slope to their advantage, designing an expansive porch wing that showcases views and openings on all sides. The walkout space below provides an opportunity for entertaining spaces adjacent to both the swimming pool and shoreline.

What We Love: This shingle-style home is fantastic in every respect, from the beautiful exterior facade to the warm and inviting interiors. With a tranquil lakefront setting, this is the ultimate dream home. We could imagine how amazing it would be to spend summer vacations enjoying this incredible home with family and friends. The covered veranda looks like the perfect spot to soak in outdoor living… Readers, what do you think of the design of this home? Would this be your idea of a dream home? For the interior living spaces, the homeowner’s wished to have their home feel as though it had been there for a century or more. The architects achieved this by incorporating much of the cabinetry, shelving and seating into the permanent structure, embellished by reclaimed wood, traditional wainscoting and beadboard.

The most stunning, awe inspiring and just plain gorgeous home I’ve ever seen. Some of the interior touches left me speechless.
