This rustic residence called “Black Forest Homestead” was custom designed by Centre Sky Architecture, located in the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. The home was created with a European flair, setting it apart from the tradition of the Rocky Mountain architecture. The Rocky Mountain aesthetic is still present, but accompanied by cleaner lines, more sophisticated detailing, and a contemporary touch.

The homeowners had a strong desire to not disturb the surrounding landscape on the site. With beautiful ponderosas and a stream running through the property, the architects wished to keep these natural features intact. A large part of the design was centered around fitting the house footprint appropriately into the site, working around these natural elements.
