This rustic home was designed by JLF Architects in collaboration with builders Big-D Signature, located in Jackson, Wyoming. The home sits on the Twin Rivers Ranch, nestled where the Gros Ventre River intersects with the Snake River. This newly constructed homestead honors the rich history of the frontier ranch that once occupied this panoramic site. The family retreat unfolds across the valley floor, recalling a string of cabins. Channeling a barn aesthetic, the design was constructed primarily with dry-stacked stone, as well as reclaimed timber and a corrugated steel roofing—materials true to the historic ethos.
A glass hallway connects the master bedroom to the main home. A small creek runs underneath that connector. Water is the central theme to the landscape of the Twin Creek House. Both the Snake River and the Gros Ventre River attract native wildlife to the area including elk, moose, and birds.
What We Love: This rustic family retreat is truly a home away from home, offering a peaceful atmosphere thanks to its heavily wooded surroundings. Beautiful both indoors and out, the exterior facade offers an inviting composition of wood and stone, which is carried through to the interior. This home offers plenty of warmth from the materials to the layering of textures. The furnishings are welcoming and comfortable, we would love to spend holidays enjoying this cozy hideaway….
