This striking modern mountain home was given a complete overhaul by interior design firm StudioTrimble, located in Blue Ridge, Georgia. This project encompasses the remodel of a traditional log home that was originally used as a weekend retreat. It is now a modern full-time retirement residence with a stylish new layout and design. The original home lacked storage and was loaded with plenty of wood—walls, floor and ceilings—all wood, and completely timeworn and lackluster.
The designers did a complete tear down of the kitchen and all of the bathrooms. They also conducted a complete renovation of the basement, transforming it into a cozy entertainment space. The overall style ended up being “mountain modern” which was sensitive to the modern home style, yet fresh with contemporary creature comforts and details.
What We Love: The beautiful log home offers an incredible transformation into a modern mountain retreat that is warm and inviting. Open and airy living spaces feature maximized views over the mountainous landscape. The outdoor living spaces are just as inviting and are perfect for the homeowners to entertain their overnight guests. The guest rooms are cozy and stylish, who would want to ever leave!?
