This contemporary three-story residence was designed by Conard Romano Architects, located on a small property in the Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Due to it’s narrow site, the architects were limited in their design. The program requirements were to create a compact floor plan that catered to the homeowner’s lifestyle needs. Within this small footprint, the vertical design was emphasized by a second story balcony, which overlooks a double volume dining room.
A dramatic wood and steel staircase accesses all three levels, providing transparency through glass gaurdrails. The main living spaces open out to a terrace, blurring the boundaries between indoors and out. The terrace offers an outdoor living area for entertaining, complete with a fireplace and barbecue.
