A luxury minimalist penthouse set in a prominent high-rise was transformed by Cecil Baker + Partners, located in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The homeowners requested for the interior layout to be reconfigured and completely renovated into an urban pied-a-terre. The home is positioned on the top floor of a forty-five story luxury apartment building, which overlooks Washington Square Park and surrounding city skyline.

This property was originally three penthouse units, which have now been converted into a large living space encompassing 8,700 square feet. There is also 2,500 square feet of outdoor terrace space, offering sensational panoramic cityscape views. The homeowners goal was to create a city home that could be used as their personal gallery space. They would could collect and showcase contemporary glass crafts.

The living areas were designed in an open layout, flowing harmoniously from one space to the next. There are pockets of secondary spaces throughout. The goal was to be able to host large social events where guests could freely roam throughout the penthouse, including the master bedroom suite. There is also a main gallery space whose function is to house unique, traveling art shows.

Cooking would need to be visible from several of the entertainments spaces. The space was designed as a “show” kitchen for their renowned chef. There are also secondary prep and cleaning facilities hidden from view.
