This mountain modern home was designed by Ryan Group Architects along with Lamperti Construction, located in the private community of Martis Camp, in Truckee, California. Encompassing 4,500 square feet of living space, the design of this two-story home was intended to maximize natural light and views. There is a strong indoor-outdoor connection through the use of extensive glazing and walls of disappearing glass.
“The plan perfectly extends itself in both the east to west and north to south directions to simultaneously blend privacy and large family gatherings,” states the architects. “The patterns and placement of glass maximize ski run views and light all while maintaining the right amount of intimacy and scale.” Highlights of this project includes: smart design, exposed structure, concrete pavers, concealed window coverings and custom designed bunk beds.
What We Love: The mountain modern home offers a spacious floor plan with warm and inviting interior living spaces. The indoor-outdoor connection has a seamless flow that is perfect for entertaining guests. Surrounded by nature, this would be a peaceful home to spend time relaxing and connecting with family and friends. The combined use of material elements of wood, glass and stone creates a beautiful aesthetic that is quite refined… Readers, please share with us your thoughts on the design of this residence. Would a mountain retreat be your idea of the perfect vacation home?
