If you are planning to design an outdoor kitchen for entertaining family and friends, there are plenty of styles and options that can work in your space. Whether you select a small kitchen area or a more spacious one, you need to consider your needs. Are you going to be doing your prep work indoors or out? It would save space to do it inside, but if you prefer convenience, you may wish to have a larger counterspace integrated outside.
If you do a lot of entertaining, you may need a full-service operation. This would includes things such as a grill, pizza oven, refrigerator, sink, cabinetry for storage, maybe even a dishwasher or wine chiller. Your outdoor kitchen should be ideally located in close proximity to lounging and eating areas. A bar top will allow guests to sit and chat while you prepare food and cook. Guests usually like to be near the cook, with a bar top they can watch the action while remaining clear of the kitchen space.
