This two-story contemporary craftsman style residence was designed by award winning studio Taylor Lombardo Architects, located in Portola Valley, California. A sumptuous, open concept floorplan encompasses 5,500 square feet of living space spread out over two levels.

The highlight of this home is the double volume living room with exposes trusses and floor-to-ceiling fireplace as the central focal point. A beautiful drum pendant light helps to illuminate this bright and airy space in the evening. The farmhouse also includes a below grade parking garage and a swimming pool with a pool cabana.

Above: Beautiful French doors helps blur the boundaries between indoors and out in the open concept living, dining room and kitchen. This also helps to extend the entertaining areas by providing direct access to the outdoor patios and swimming pool area.

Above: The kitchen countertop on the island is walnut, while the perimeter countertops are a white marble with gray veining. The flooring is a wide plank, reclaimed wood with a rich custom stain and finished with a urethane-based surface sealant. A big advantage to this sealant is that it is very durable — stain and water resistant. It is often used in high traffic areas, with the only maintenance being the occasional dusting and mopping.
