Interiors studio Arch. Predmet was commissioned to design this 12,916 (1,200 square meters) mansion located in an area surrounded by Russian nature. Completed in 2016, the interior reflects a rural style that has been reinterpreted, while still respecting its original cottage structure. The designers proposed to their clients that they should avoid cliches of a typical house in the country. When they first saw this home, they envisioned an open concept without partitions.
They respected the original construction, such as the transom bars, double sloped ceilings, exposed wooden beams, the gabled roof and the balcony rails, all typical of a country house. They combined these architectural details with pieces of contemporary design and natural materials. “Here you will not find bearskins or reindeer heads,” states the designers, who collaborated with luxury furniture design company Boca do Lobo to create an eclectic, modern and welcoming atmosphere.
The distribution was designed keeping in mind the needs of the owners. The ground floor encompasses a spacious loft, lounge area, study, dining room, two informal living rooms with modern design details and a small, enclosed kitchen.
The finishing result is a country house whose interior reflects a high regard for modern trends, creating a warm and cozy space full of natural materials.
What We Love: This Russian refuge features beautiful design features that mixes modern updates with preserved features from the past to build charm and character. Luxurious furnishings, accessories and finishes can be seen throughout, yet the feeling this home exudes is that of warmth and comfort.
