A Connecticut farmhouse with a spectacular rough-luxe aesthetic

The homeowner’s of this farmhouse in Redding, Connecticut commissioned interior designer studio At Home Design to completely renovate their home. The project required the design team to leave the existing footprint intact. Tearing down walls and reconfiguring spaces to meet the client’s lifestyle needs. The homeowner’s had a vision of the design direction they wanted for their home. They were looking to mix material elements that were both old and new that would reflect a more “rough-luxe” aesthetic. From the exterior, the presentation of the home is clean and classic lines. The farmhouse is surrounded by well-manicured gardens and mature growth trees. Spread out over three levels, this family home is warm and inviting from the front door. Continue on with the home tour to see what we are talking about…

A bromeliad plant is centered in the middle, bringing in a fresh element to the space. The table is accented by a mix of brown and cream chairs for visual interest. A burst of color has been injected into this space through the color over dye area rug, which helps to ground the space. Brining ambiance to the space are lantern pendant lights, sourced from Holly Hunt Studio.
