This contemporary lake house project was constructed in 2015, featuring a clean, minimalist palette designed by architecture studio Soesthetic Group, located in Kiev, Ukraine. During the design phase of this two-story home, the design team focused on avoiding current fashion and design trends. They wanted a scheme that would not lose relevance over time, but they also wanted to cater to their client’s lifestyle needs. They opted for a neutral color palette throughout the interiors, focusing on function. All built-in storage and engineering solutions were integrated into the design and concealed. This creates a more clean aesthetic that is still highly usable. They created spaces where the interior would be easy to change over time with just a fresh update on furnishings and decor.
The living spaces are separated by an open bookshelf design comprised of a light wood. A wall of wood storage painted black helps to delineate the living areas from the open concept kitchen and dining areas. This wood storage area also helps to provide some contrast with an other neutral color scheme. It also picks up off the black area rug in the living room, creating harmony.
What We Love: This contemporary lake house features classic modern furnishings and a neutral color palette that is soothing on the eyes. The use of wood adds warmth to the clean, minimal interiors. Walls of light brings in natural light, while window treatments helps to filter out the elements and allows for privacy.
