This incredible two-story modern concrete and glass dwelling was designed by Pitsou Kedem Architect, located in Herzelia Pituach, an affluent beachfront district in Israel. The concrete form appears to float while being anchored by a horizontal concrete wall that rests on a steel beam, hovering above a beautiful English garden. A wall of wooden slats surrounding the front facade of the property helps to conceal the home from the street, giving the homeowners a sense of seclusion and privacy. Offering 8,072 square feet (750 square meters) of living space, the home is characterized by clean lines and modern forms that dictates the entirety of the grounds.
Entrance into this architectural marvel is through transparent partitions, which leads you into the public zones. This encompasses the living and dining room, kitchen, lush garden and a reflecting pool, all of which have a seamless connection between indoors and out. The architects have stated that, “similarly, the entrance from the street prepares the visitor for the “space vessel” with the aid of shutter-like walls of wood – forming an outdoor lobby – barely visible from the street and open to the interior of the house.”
The design of the lower level is separate from the prism above, yet balances itself through cross sections. The second level offers shelter for the more intimate spaces, encompassing the bedrooms while still being connected to the exterior environment through expansive walls of glass concealed by wooden slats for privacy.

What We Love: A modern concrete and glass structure that makes maximizes the site and provides privacy to its homeowners with clever design elements. The reflecting pool on one side of the property adds a nice Zen feeling to the home, providing a great space to relax and contemplate. The swimming pool also adds a nice water element on the opposing side of the home not to mention great views from the living room. There is a great use of space by extending the interiors outwards through walls of pivoting glass.
