This beautiful summer beach house was designed by Hutkerย Architects in collaboration with interiors studioย MVIย Design, located on Menemsha Beach,ย Massachusetts. The home has been aptly named “beach barn” in reference to the architectural design style of this lovely family abode. Designed for a family of five to enjoy spending their summers, there are ample living spaces both inside and out as well as smaller areas to enjoy peaceย and relaxation.
The heart of the home is one grand space with a vaulted ceiling which houses the living room, dining area and music space in an open pavilion. Sliding glass patio doors opens the space up to the elements, allowing fresh ocean air breezes to travel in as well as natural light. There are plenty of windows throughout the rest of the home as well, allowing nature to make its way in. The kitchen features sliding glass panels that connects it to a wonderful herb garden.
The interior designer has done a fantastic job with the interiors of this home, as she has done with another home that we have featured, Beautiful cape cod summer house in Massachusetts.ย Along with the barn-like details of the home, the atmosphere offers a color palette of driftwood tones, which matches well with the weathering cedar-clad shingling on the exterior facade of the property. Overall this home offers its inhabitants and guests a relaxed, casual elegance that is perfect for a beach house!
What We Love: The fabulous great room with it’s vaulted ceiling, double-story stone clad fireplace, views out to the ocean and barn-like aesthetics that is truly stunning. With exposed trusses and support beams, wood clad ceiling and spacious open layout, this home feels truly warm and cozy… the perfect summer getaway to enjoy the beach!
