This sensational mountain cabin was recently restored, showcasing wonderful design and craftsmanship, located in Sälen, a municipality of Dalarna County, Sweden. The exterior does not revel that this piece of paradise is something more than just an unusually large chalet. Once you step foot inside the door you realize that you have just met a ski lodge to dream about; its beautiful, charming and extremely comfortable, with a lovely mix of old and new design. The owners enjoy skiing in the wintertime and after spending a day on the slopes, the living room offers a comfortable place to sit in front of the wood stove, relax, and get warmed up. The cabin features plenty of reclaimed furniture pieces, adding to the character of the home. The patio is a wonderful place to settle down and enjoy the magnificent views.

The spacious kitchen features a stunning mixture of new and old. The flooring is comprised of the end pieces of oak, and the walls are decorated in a French tile with an eye-catching green and white graphic print. The furnishings have an old farmhouse feel, with old cabinets and shelves. A small table pulled up next to the island creates a cozy spot for casual dining, the area rug adds warmth, texture and color to the space.

The dining room features a large wooden table with lots of seating, perfect for entertaining friends and family. The seating is comprised of old wooden chairs and some upholstered chairs, which adds personality and character to the space. There is also a wall-mounted bench with lots of pillows for comfort.

Cozy patterns do wonderfully in this warm cabin retreat. The mix of textures creates a very inviting space.

The sideboard in the hallway was picked up from an auction, as well as the old wooden chair and area rug, which is comprised of a patchwork of old kilims.

The latest addition to the home is this relaxation center, playing host to a sauna, shower and an outdoor jacuzzi.

Inside the shower is galvanized sheet metal, which contrasts nicely against the light wood flooring.
