INT2 architecture have recently completed the Interior TR project, consisting of a cozy studio apartment that maximizes living spaces, located in Moscow, Russia. We have presented to you many inspiring ideas on decorating small apartments here on 1 Kindesign, here is one more that will hopefully give you some great DIYs! This tiny space is comprised of just 430 square feet (40 square meters), designed for a young couple to live for a few years until they can save money to move to a larger space. A lot of us can identify with this, so why not embrace it and make your small apartment a home, not a temporary space, give it some personality. This is just what was done in this contemporary project, with the main principle to create a comfortable atmosphere, by zoning spaces into the needs of the inhabitants. The main functional areas were isolated, the bedroom and a working area, living room, dining room, kitchen and even a bar area on the balcony. There is a walk-in closet situated in the hallway, bathroom and even a small laundry space. That is a lot to fit into just 40 square meters! This project was an impressive division of space and came across very successfully.
Although small, the interiors feel spacious and cozy, what do you think? Could you live here?
Clever storage ideas are everywhere you look in this great studio design. Well appointed interiors are soothing on the eyes with a very clean color palette. Small furnishings help to make the space feel bigger while at the same time create divisional spaces with the separate arrangements.
A magnetic chalkboard wall is the perfect solution to housing a wall of spices. These magnetic spice containers can be found at places such as World Market and IKEA.
Tip: To help create more space for your washing machine, take out the door and install a curtain. You can purchase either a tension rod from a hardware store or a piece of cable from IKEA or West Elm to install the drapery curtain.
