This beautiful house is located in the Barrio de las Letras, in Madrid, Spain, surrounded by green valleys. The residence has been rejuvenated thanks to a prodigious rehabilitation, work of Elizabeth López-Quesada and Marta Maran. The designers have created new spaces with a mixture of styles, from modern to classic with rustic touches full of interesting details. Harmony and luminosity can be found throughout; keeping the character of the home as authentic as possible, while keeping the style current.
Textures have been used throughout the home, wood furniture, grass mats and linen window treatments add freshness to the home, while touches of velvet and lacquered pieces create warmth in the living environment. The walls are painted in soft hues of sandstone, with crown molding adding a finishing touch. The rooms were configured with an emphasis on orientation to maximize daylighting. An 18th century painted stone fireplace is the focal point of the living room. Via
