Farmer Payne Architects designed this sleek, contemporary mountain home to capture stunning views of the Teton Range and the meandering Snake River in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The homeowners came in with the intention of creating a legacy property worthy of passing down through the generations.
The architects responded to the six-acre terrain in a way that, rather than overpowering it, celebrates its beauty. The result is elegant cascading staircases and large windows that flood the interior with natural light. The interiors complement the spectacular view with natural materials and a warm color palette.
This house is not only inviting but also reflects the homeowner’s distinct personality with its cedar cladding, soaring ceilings, and pops of color. Continue below to see the rest of this incredible home tour…

Strategically nestled into an existing natural slope, the architects devised an innovative split-level design that expands into the site, creating volume. At the same time, the building form responds to the sloping landscape, resulting in elegant cascading staircases and expansive windows.

To address the challenges posed by the unstable, loose soil, the architects delved deep into the terrain to establish a robust pier foundation to ensure structural integrity.

With cedar cladding, large Loewen windows, and high ceilings, this 6,400-square-foot, five-bedroom, three-bathroom (plus two powder rooms) home boasts abundant natural light and a warm interior atmosphere.
