A Denver family commissioned interior designer Breeze Giannasio to oversee the renovation and decoration of their vacation home, a Bohemian-style bungalow in Maui, Hawaii. The family was on spring break when they fell in love with the island and desired to have their own piece of paradise, one with majestic views of both the mountains and the ocean.
The house was stripped down to the studs, making way for a lush indoor-outdoor oasis. This includes new sliding glass doors connecting the wraparound porches with the main living areas, a reoriented open architectural staircase, and an open-concept kitchen to maximize the stunning views. Low-lying custom furniture and rich, textural details recall the clientsโ travels to Bali and Japan.

What We Love: This inviting family retreat was beautifully reimagined with bohemian-style living spaces, offering a vibrant and playful atmosphere. We love the casual yet stylish feel throughout this home and the fabulous indoor-outdoor flow. Skylights help to bring in an abundance of natural light, while large windows throughout the home frame views of the lush, tropical vegetation. The stunning exposed beam ceilings and wood flooring in the great room help to make this entertaining space warm and welcoming.
Tell Us: Would this be your idea of the perfect family retreat? Let us know why or why not in the Comments below!
