This coastal home provides a breathtaking sanctuary on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, reimagined by Mobius Architecture in collaboration with Western Craft Contracting. Situated in the idyllic Madeira Park—named after the famed Portuguese island—this home is thoughtfully nestled into its rugged surroundings, where expansive glazing frames ocean vistas and natural materials echo the coastal landscape.
Blurring the line between indoors and out, it offers a serene retreat that feels both grounded in nature and effortlessly refined. The homeowner was a major part of the design process and really wanted this home to be a “coastal sanctuary.”

This renovation took an already stunning house and transformed it into a home that encompasses everything that West Coast living should be. As you can see from the photos, every detail was considered. The unique lighting fixtures, wood features, and custom doors enhance the beauty and uniqueness of this special place built on the water’s edge.
What We Love About This Home
This coastal home sanctuary is all about calm, connection, and effortless waterfront living. With ocean views, natural materials, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow, it offers a peaceful retreat that feels both grounded in nature and quietly luxurious. We love so many details in this home, from the unique front door to the handmade metal goat sculptures that greet you as you drive up, to the spectacular views of the water. What a tranquil place to call home!
