This cedar shake house was designed by L. Mitchell Ginn and Associates together with Liz Williams Interiors as a family lakeside getaway, situated on Lake Martin, Alabama. The home was envisioned as a weekend escape, featuring lush landscaping and terraced lawns.
The exterior of the house features battered stone columns, flared rafter tails, and arched gable trusses, providing a storybook feel that is reminiscent of European architecture. Surrounded by arched windows, the glass front door perfectly aligns with a large window that captures an unforgettable view of the lake and forested hills in the distance.

What We Love About This Home
Inspired by the lake, soft blue hues and a serene neutral palette flow effortlessly throughout the interior. The formal living room stuns with a soaring wood ceiling, crisp white shiplap walls, and a massive stone fireplace that anchors the space. Nearly every room opens to expansive water views, while large windows and covered porches beautifully frame the dramatic lakeside scenery.
