The homeowner, an avid swimmer, wanted to ensure that their love for the water was reflected in the design of the house. The result is an outdoor oasis, complete with a beautiful swimming pool and a separate lap pool.
The outdoor spaces have been expertly crafted to encourage indoor-outdoor living and provide a luxurious feel to the property.
In addition to its breathtaking beauty, this home is also highly functional. From the modern amenities to the thoughtfully designed spaces, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure that the homeowner is able to enjoy a comfortable, luxurious lifestyle.
The house truly embodies the perfect blend of form and function, making it a truly unique and special place to call home.
Since the property is narrow, the architect/owner had to create a design that was long in skinny to maximize the property.
The dwelling was separated into two wings: the public spaces, including the kitchen, living and dining room, and the private spaces, including the bedrooms, bathrooms, media room office, and staircase. The division of these spaces into two separate sections allowed for soaring ceilings in the living spaces, while the sleeping areas are more practical.
The idea for the design of this residence was for a seamless transition from front to back. The project team accomplished this goal by creating a walking path that begins before the entrance and makes its way through the house between the two living zones and through to the backyard.
What We Love: The front elevation of this modern river house showcases a visually appealing composition of materials. The entry into this home is particularly noteworthy, as it passes through a courtyard, which is also accessed from the dining room. The backyard of this dwelling maximizes its location with an attractive pier design, which includes inviting outdoor living spaces and an upper-level deck that adjoins the home office.
