This fabulous home makeover in Texas features the dreamiest kitchen

Haven Design and Construction is responsible for this fabulous home makeover with stylish details, nestled on two acres in North San Antonio, Texas. This custom home was originally built in 2007 and was in need of an extensive update to accommodate the lifestyle needs of a young family. The 5,356 square foot home was transformed to give an overall sleek and clean aesthetic. The kitchen renovation set the tone for the rest of this fabulous home makeover.

The style was not ideal to the new owners, yet the dark wood cabinets were still of good quality and the appliances were not that old. To save money on the renovation, the project team filled in the knots on the knotty alder base cabinets and the paneled fridge. A fresh coat of paint made them appear brand new. The upper cabinets were replaced, along with a new range hood and island. The door style was made to match the existing cabinets and painted the same color.

Highlights to this kitchen include a two-tier 7′-5″ x 7′-5″ island with seating for up to five people. Upper cabinets are stacked to nearly reach the 12-foot high ceiling height. There are also two sinks, a custom range hood, and custom pullouts for garbage/recycling, cooking utensils, and spices by the range.

What We Love: This fabulous home makeover features a drool-worthy kitchen in black, white, and gold. We are loving how the designer was able to preserve and update some of the cabinetry while adding new details to create a completely custom look. The transitional modern styling throughout the home offers this family a wonderful update that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Above: In the main bedroom, the homeowners desired a sophisticated and transitional aesthetic. Their existing furnishings decorate this space, including a charcoal gray upholstered bed and gray zine nightstands and dresser. To lighten the space, the designer added luxe bedding in cream and gold tones.

Great article and incredible renovation! You mentioned the kitchen cabinet paint but what’s the paint that was used for the kitchen walls?
