This project entails the stunning renovation of a mid-century modern home by CVI Design, located on the West side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The design team brought this 1970’s home into the 21st century while preserving and restoring its original charm. Some modern touches were infused into the design, while being careful to honor the architecture of the building.
The kitchen was completely transformed, and a master bedroom was added with the addition of a bathroom by reconfiguring the floor plan. Vintage furnishings feature clean lines accented with smooth, curved angles, along with pops of darker neutral tones with saturated accent colors, really bringing a mid-century flair to this old home.

What We Love: This mid-century modern renovation features eye-catching details, from custom to budget-minded. Original wood walls and ceiling beams helps to keep the character of this home well-preserved. Designer furnishings such as the Eames Lounge Chair helps to further enhance the stylish mid-century aesthetic… Readers, what do you think? Are you a fan of mid-century modern design?
