Above: The pavilion style, open kitchen features layered lighting and pops of pattern. This inspired style can be applied to any size of kitchen. A built-in dry bar provides further storage, while an expansive dining table (1o foot long) is perfect for entertaining.
The whites in this space are offset by the deep gray hue of the custom cabinetry: Wrought Iron 2124-10 | Benjamin Moore.
Above: The kitchen measures 25 by 20 feet, while the island itself is 14 feet long. The countertop is Caesarstone in the color Blizzard, complete with an integrated sink, Rohl faucet and Miele dishwasher. The backsplash tile above the range is a handcrafted Moroccan cement tile from Ann Sacks.
Above: The the rough-hewn, reclaimed white oak dining table was sourced from Restoration Hardware. Accenting the table are Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs, adding a touch of modern to the space. The designer kept the light fixtures simple over the kitchen table so as not to compete with the luminous pendant lights over the kitchen island. 11 bare bulbs helps to illuminate the table and although minimal, they pack a punch.
To help with entertaining, the design team incorporated a dry bar for mixing drinks. An under-counter, 24″ wine fridge was sourced from U-Line. Open shelving is used to display glassware.
Above: The architect selected nine-inch planked, European oak floors for the main living spaces, infusing a contemporary vibe. They can be easily refinished if they get scratched and they stand up to spills.

Above: Entertaining spaces are continued on the exterior, with a gas fireplace clad with glazed terra-cotta tiles. The stuccoed chimney soars to 18-feet high, becoming a sculptural focal point of this patio space. The cement hearth is wide enough to provide additional seating.
A cedar pergola with 6 x 10 inch beams keeps the space feeling open and airy while still providing shading and a sense of enclosure. String lights creates a magical experience in the evening hours, sourced from the Urban Electric Co. The deck is a heat-treated hardwood that appears weathered. It takes on an ipe wood aesthetic and is as durable, with the planks being resistant to both moisture and decay.
