This two-story, 5,000 square foot contemporary mountain home was designed by Charles Cunniffe Architects, located in Aspen, Colorado. The exterior of the dwelling features no maintenance materials, which includes bold forms of glass, stone, Resysta panels, and stucco. This enables the the sights and sounds of the roaring river to be experienced from every room. Carefully placed operable clerestory windows allows for both cross ventilation and solar heat gain.
What We Love: Besides the stunning landscape that this house resides on, what is there not to love? There is so much glass that you feel like you are immersed in nature and its hard to feel exposed when you are in the middle of solitude. Above: At the entryway into the home, a pivoting glass door opens to a dramatic floating staircase. This is flanked by a sandstone wall and a floor-to-ceiling wall of glass. Stone intersects glass as it wraps around to the exterior facade.

Clerestory windows helps to illuminate the space with natural light, while also providing ventilation and views.
Above: On the second level, the master bedroom suite, offers a sleek palette of stone and glass with a linear fireplace. Floor-to-ceiling windows draws nature into the space, creating a feeling of floating in the trees.
Above: The bathroom features a floating tub with skylight above, illuminating the space with natural light. An adjacent wardrobe provides convenient access after taking a bath or shower. Also situated on this level is a home office, powder bath and pantry.
Above: On the main level, just off the entry, you will find three guest bedroom suites, a workout room with a walkout to the home’s hot tub, and an art corridor that leads to a sculpture wall.
