This modern-lux apartment has been designed by architect and owner Ricardo Minelli, located in Vila Nova Conceição, an upscale district in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It took three years for the new homeowner to find the right place to settle down and two years to design it to perfection. The apartment is located on the fourth floor and features a welcoming balcony embraced by lush vegetation, creating a delightful backdrop, inviting diffused light into the living environments. The architect wanted to develop the spaces to cater to his lifestyle, so he re-configured spaces so that they could all be utilized. There were four bedrooms, so he kept two intact, one for him and the other for guests. The other two had the walls taken down to increase the space for the main bathroom and the other was used for the main living area. This created enough space to have a living, dining and home theater. The spaces are all open without visual boundaries, and is even more enjoyable with the view from the balcony, which helps to filter the noise and air pollution from the the city. The kitchen walls were also eliminated so that he does not isolate guests while cooking and entertaining them. Instead he installed a large sliding door, which is usually left open. With wall to wall windows, the kitchen sill plays host to a garden of fresh herbs. The personality of the interior design is reflected into the decor, with furnishings coming from his store, Érea. There are various tones of gray, reflecting more of a masculine atmosphere. The natural light helps to soften the spaces, making a great pad to live in.
