This single family detached dwelling was re-imagined for a young familyย by Rad Design, located in a trendy Beach neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The transitional styleย open plan design reflects beautiful new furnishings, artwork, accessories and lighting throughout, creating a harmonious atmosphere. The architects also custom designed some select pieces of furnishings, including the master bedroom retreat. This bedroom was designed as dreamy escapeย reminiscent of boutique hotels. All spaces have their own color palette infused with splashes of bold colors to jazz up bright, sunny rooms. With a newborn baby, a nursery was designed in the home, offering a bright ambiance and clean, white furnishings. Lavender walls mix harmoniously with a wall to wall teal rug. Instead of using traditional boy/girl hues, a contemporary schemeย with neutral hues was incorporated into the design so that it will last as the child gets older.
The office/library was given bright purple chairs, that are very comfortable for curling up and reading in. A brand new art wall showcases a sampling of the homeowner’s photography work. An area rug adds dimension and texture to the space. The main floor offers newly painted walls, furnishings and lighting, and a variety of textures to pull the whole design together, mixed with some of the homeowner’s existing pieces. Overall, the design reflects clean lines and a bright and airy ambiance, a true reflection of the homeowner’s tastes.
