This Spanish Revival house has undergone a gorgeous large-scale renovation by Modern Nest that includes furnishings from Market by Modern Nest, situated in Scottsdale, Arizona. Encompassing 3,520 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the scope of this project entailed enchancing the character of the home. The design team drew inspiration from the timeless Spanish heritage, while seamlessly incorporating modern design elements.
Rich in texture, function, and comfort – discover the unique details that revive this old house and make it a home. This house had great bones to begin with. Keeping the beautiful existing Saltilo tile as the foundation, the designer incorporated dark woods—such as the ceiling beams, organic stones, and custom cabinetry. Paired together, all of these elements create a warm and rustic environment that echos its natural desert surroundings.

Staying true to the historic style of Spanish architecture, the project team also incorporated soft arches, a carved wooden door, and plenty of terracotta accents. The master bathroom beautifully pairs all of these elements together, creating one of the designer’s favorite rooms in the house.
Another favorite space is the kitchen. Drama was infused into this space with large oversized pendants juxtaposed against delicate hand-painted tile. The arched range and hidden nooks, along with the open shelving, created opportunities to have fun with styling this space. The light fixture suspended over the dining table is the Prosperity Black Rectangular Chandelier from Currey & Co.
What We Love: The transformation of this Spanish Revival house is absolutely stunning, brimming with character and charm. The double island kitchen offers plenty of functionality, a place to chop, and a place to dine! We love how the designers were able to preserve the integrity of the Spanish-style home, incorporating lighting that works with the historical style while also elevating the design into what’s relevant today.
