Carney Logan Burke Architects is responsible for the design of this gorgeous two-story modern home that is situated in the picturesque ski resort town of Park City, Utah. This dwelling encompasses 3,700 square feet of sumptuous living space and a 600-square-foot garage. The interior flooring is comprised of concrete, which is cool underfoot in the hot summer months.

Wood is used on the staircase and clad on the ceiling on the upstairs level, adding warmth to the home. Wood and Corten steel are also repeated on the home’s exterior, creating a very inviting place to call home. Continue below to see the rest of this spectacular home tour…

What We Love: This incredible modern home in Utah offers a rustic aesthetic from the exterior that is visually warm and inviting. The interior is just as fantastic, offering an open and airy floor plan with clean lines and attractive details throughout. The heavy use of wood on the interior infuses warmth into the modern design, creating a welcoming ambiance.

Above: The open plan living and kitchen area features a double-height ceiling with an open mezzanine level above that hosts a home office. This helps to diffuse light into the space from above, especially with the white walls reflecting the light. A comfortable seating arrangement features leather chairs from Crate & Barrel and a Noguchi glass coffee table from Herman Miller.

Above: The dining room is bright and airy with floor-to-ceiling picture windows that feel like you are immersed in nature. The furnishings are comprised of a custom table and bench designed by the architect and made by a carpenter out of a clear vertical grain fir and plywood. Fabricated steel pieces have been incorporated into the furniture pieces. The chairs that complement the table and bench were picked up from Design Within Reach, the “Salt” chair.

I never understood the allure of maple-hued wood window frames against stark white sheetrock walls. I wince every time.
