Rowland+Broughton Architecture has designed this impressive lakeside house with contemporary details, located in Park City, Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, the area is bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both of which are known for their ski slopes.

The beautiful lakeside setting is what inspired the design of this ground-up residence of 5,672 square feet. The architects devised a home that would be respectful of the neighborhood. This structure features iconic, shifting gable forms, arranged to maximize seamless front-to-back lake views. The home’s central spine creates a further connection from the entryway to the lake. A double volume gallery space in the front foyer provides a backdrop to the homeowner’s extensive contemporary art collection. Material and finish selections, both indoors and out, reflect the mountain vernacular architecture detailed in a more modern way.

From the moment of entry, a stunning pivoting wood door welcomes guests inside, while voluminous walls showcase contemporary works of art.
