This historic shingle-style coastal house was beautifully renovated by OLSON LEWIS + Architects, located in Manchester-by-the-Sea, a coastal town on Cape Ann, in Essex County, Massachusetts. In the quest to celebrate the home’s heritage, the project team focused on maintaining its character by deciding what could be preserved or restored.

What We Love: This shingle-style coastal house was reimaged with light and airy living spaces that are warm and welcoming. There are so many beautiful details in this home, from the cozy living room with its built-in window seat to the light-filled kitchen with its creamy color palette and hand-painted, custom cabinetry. Overall, the project team did a beautiful job of updating this historical home into a relaxing haven that blends coastal charm with contemporary comforts.
