This serene lake house retreat was designed by Gabriel Builders, located at The Cliffs At Keowee Springs, Six Miles, South Carolina. This gorgeous rustic home, which provides a welcoming escape for a family of seven, was created to promote gathering and connection to the beautiful natural setting.
The views and topography strongly influence the direction of the floor plan. The kitchen, dining, and living spaces are on the upper level with porches extending off either end so they do not obstruct the views of the gorgeous lake below. This sprawling home encompasses 8,400 square feet of living space with seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and one half bathroom.
The “eyebrow” dormer window, which is visible on the street side, extends through the home, becoming the ceiling of the dining room, before ultimately emerging as a dramatic three-story roof structure over a terrace on the lake side.
FINISHES: Traditional stucco, natural stone, cast stone, copper, terra cotta tiles, ship lap walls with a stained wood, barrel vault ceiling, oak floors, ceramic tile, timber frame trusses and columns.
FUN FACT: The curved ceiling of the dining room, which is 25′ tall, is an extension of the eyebrow dormer, which is visible from the street and lake side of the house.

Above: The Heirloom Companies was responsible for this custom hand forged metal staircase, which connects the upper level deck to the lower two-levels and ultimately linking to a pathway that takes you to the lake.
Above: This backyard oasis features Adirondack chairs encircling a large fire pit with idyllic views of Lake Keowee. We are loving the lines that the flagstone creates, accented with ground cover.
