A Corona Del Mar home with a modern yet comfortable atmosphere

modern-home-exterior-patio

Brandon Architects has designed this spectacular modern home that is located on the Flower Streets of Corona Del Mar, California. This dwelling perfectly characterizes the California Modern style, with light wood features both inside the home and outmatching the coastal atmosphere, along with bold metal accents and large sliding glass doors that open the house up for comfortable indoor/outdoor living.

Inside this 3,348 square foot home, an open floor plan concept connects the kitchen to the dining and family rooms, while an interior side courtyard, similarly outfitted with pocketing glass doors, allows for a more private connection with the outdoors away from the streets on both ends of the home.

What We Love: This modern home in Corona del Mar provides light and airy living spaces thanks to expansive walls of glass that connects to an inviting courtyard. Despite being tucked between houses on either side of this home, there is ample outdoor space for entertaining and plenty of privacy thanks to the architect’s creative vision. We are especially loving the rooftop deck that offers a fabulous spot to lounge but also incredible views of the Pacific Ocean.

The interior side courtyard not only opens the home to greater access to the outside but also divides the home between the open floor plan rooms to the front of the house and the more private bedrooms to the rear, sheltering the latter from the street which often sees heavy foot traffic, especially during the summertime.

The same level of privacy is found in the owner’s bedroom suite above the main room without compromising the connection to sunlight through a recessed channel for blinds in the ceiling which, when not in use, are hidden by the white stucco half-frame on the exterior.
