A beautiful country farmhouse created for empty nesters in North Carolina

country-farmhouse-exterior

This beautiful country farmhouse was designed by Prudhomme Architecture as a dreamy retirement home, nestled on 5 acres and surrounded by large oak trees and rolling meadows in Asheville, North Carolina. An example of exceptional craftsmanship is on display in this home, including stained and painted interior and exterior timber beams and accents along with extensive hand-crafted woodwork.

A long paver driveway invites one up to the house, surrounded by meticulously landscaped grass, along with beautiful flowers and shrubs. Romantic window boxes emphasize high-end finishes of beautifully stained woodwork and trim along with painted James Hardie board siding. Inside you will find 4,452 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

Very strange with the pillars. Am hoping the designer lost to homeowner’s whims…very dated decor & furnishings in many areas.

The exterior looks ok, but the interior is hideous. Their decorator should be ashamed, but I suppose if the client wants it and they have the $$$…… What is the deal with throwing in fake-o aged looking beams in the family room? It looks like an alien invaded the house and sent those down through the roof?

Couldn’t agree more! But if they are paying and this is what they like, then I suppose go for it.

Beautiful craftmanship! Had to chuckle; 4500 sq ft for ’empty nester’.
