2. Four-Season Pavilion. This striking sunroom has plenty of dining and sitting areas, including a relaxing daybed that is suspended from the ceiling. There is also a cooking and grilling area behind the fireplace. This space features operable steel doors and windows. Douglas Fir and reclaimed Hemlock ceiling boards. The wood-burning fireplace is made from locally sourced stone, and the mantel is an antique hand-hewn timber. 3. Cozy Sun Porch. This space oozes coziness with the overstuffed sofa, huge pillows, and wicker furnishings from Pier 1 Imports. The large native fieldstone fireplace was cleverly devised to block the view of a neighboring home. The wood-burning fireplace is an Icon Series Wood Fireplace by Heatilator. The flooring is 5/4 cedar decking. A red paint was then applied over it. Overhead, the light fixture with the fans is the Minka Aire traditional gyro. 4. Mountain Rustic Sunroom. In the mountains of Montana, this cozy, light-flooded space features reclaimed wood siding, flagstone flooring and large screened windows framing breathtaking views of nature. The screens were hand built by the contractor. (via Altius Design Group)

The spindles are made of Locust and were custom made in the WNC mountains by a crafts person. The ceiling wood on the porch is Mushroom Board purchased from Appalachian Antique Hardwoods in Waynesville NC. The ceiling fan is from Hunter Douglas. The floors are IPE wood. There is no stain. They naturally turn grey rather like teak when exposed to light. The fireplace stone was sourced from a quarry near Lake Toxaway, N.C. Tennessee Field Stone would be a good substitute. The dimensions are approximately 18′ wide by 25′ long. TIP: ClearView motion screens are great for enclosing a porch like this one. They can span up to 22′ and do not block a view. However, they do block harmful UV Radiation, sun glare, fading sun rays, HEAT, and most importantly insects. The are remote control operated too. (via Ambiance Interiors)
