Mittmann Architect in collaboration with Edwards Smith Construction has created this beautiful lakeside paradise cabin that is nestled on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Set on Swede Bay, one of the most desirable Bays on Lake Coeur d’Alene, this rustic abode provides a heavenly retreat for family gatherings.
The team was tasked with the design and implementation of replicating an old lakeside estate – something reminiscent of the early 1900s. The owners were extremely committed to the historical accuracy of their vision, utilizing lichen-aged stone and reclaimed logs and timbers sourced from across the United States.
Contributing to the estate’s ageless beauty are masonry walls, gas lanterns, wall sconces, and stone paths. A hand-crafted, winding handrail guides family and guests from sleeping cottage to sleeping cottage.
Just a few of the many memorable spaces include an outdoor covered barbecue and fireplace, the sitting room between the master bedroom and office, and some 21st-century fun in the form of a beachside bar and pickleball court.
Complementing the design and build – an array of sumptuous furnishings coordinated by Garrett Oiness of IVY Gift and Home.
What We Love: This new “old camp” on the lake provides a log cabin luxe lifestyle for family escapes during summers, weekends, and holidays. A rustic material palette of wood and stone brings beauty and warmth into this inviting home. We are especially loving how the project team created separate structures for privacy. Beautifully crafted furnishings throughout have helped to create a fun and relaxing environment in this lakeside paradise cabin.
Tell Us: Would this lakeside abode be your idea of the perfect family retreat? Please share your thoughts in the Comments, we enjoy reading your feedback!
Note: Have a look at a couple of other fabulous home tours that we have highlighted here on One Kindesign in the state of Idaho: A serene lake house cuts into a rocky outcrop in Western Idaho and Mountain sanctuary offers a sense of tranquility in the Idaho wilderness.
